Interview with a Sales Rep: Featuring Eric Hiller - Ep. 1

What do you enjoy most about being Territory Manager, New England- West?

Traveling to help schools in the area I grew up in is something I really enjoy within my territory.

What is the best part about being a Fundraising Coach + Sales Rep?

Being part of an organization that provides solutions to teams/organizations fundraising needs. I also really enjoy providing a great experience with the teams I work with!

How'd you get into Sports Fundraising at Gold Athletics?

I got into Sports Fundraising as an intern in January of 2013 working in several departments (Merchant Services, Sales Support, Lead Generation) before I ultimately was hired full time in October of 2013.

What didn’t you know before you got into the industry that you wish someone had told you? What would you tell someone hoping to enter your field?

You need to be self-sufficient and a self-motivator. Also, having a passion for sports is a huge plus.

How would you describe the company culture at GA in three words?

Adaptive, Transcendent, Supportive.

What is one thing you are working on this year to be a better Territory Manager?

Focus on the positive things that impact my day-to-day operations. Spend less energy on the negative things.

What is changing in the fundraising industry?

Things are heading down the Digital landscape, and more Fundraising companies are coming into the market. There are more companies doing what we do! Providing results is so important so we stay on top of our game. Showing groups what is new and trending is important; We will continue to be the first company to deliver and make changes that improve our App and overall experience for our teams and new relationships.

What kind of person would do well in your role?

One who has some previous sales experience, who is willing to be coachable, one who has familiarity with their territory, and having a passion or background in sports is a huge plus.
